First time attending a family class?

I would recommend turning up to class 10 minutes earlier, particularly for family classes where there is only one lift and we are on the first floor.

Classes will begin and finish promptly due to short changeover intervals between classes. There is a lovely cafe in the building where you are welcome to congregate for as long as you please!

First time attending an adult class?

Please don’t fear, we are a friendly bunch! All you will require is energy, enthusiasm, and a bottle of water!
For the Parent Strength and Tone class a baby carrier or sling is recommended. A play mat will be set up for those getting to the crawling stage!

What should they / I wear for dance or fitness classes?

Comfortable, moveable activewear. For children’s dance classes, we would recommend leggings/ tracksuit bottoms and a top with bare feet or trainers. Hair should be secured off the face and jewellery removed.

Do I need prior experience?
No, not at all! Our lessons cover a wide range of experience groups and fitness levels.

Can I stay in the room with my child?

Ballet classes for children under 3.5 (Hatchlings/ Nestlings) are parent/ carer assisted.  For those over 3.5 (Chicks and Fireflies) attending a 45-minute dance or ballet classes, ideally not. From experience, children become more relaxed and settled as well as engage and enjoy lessons more without having a parent or guardian present.  At the end of each half term (6 weeks), we will invite families to watch the class to observe student progress.

Where can I wait whilst my child attends class?

There is a fabulous cafe inside the St Mary’s venue (Putney Pantry) where you are welcome to enjoy a coffee and use the Wifi.
